We sit down for a meeting, talk things through and ask questions: Do you have young children, or a growing extended family? Do you frequently entertain at home? Do you plan on living in this home into your retirement years?
We go over your ‘wish list’ and together we identify which items you desire most, as well as which are most feasible. We discuss any regulatory constraints, topography challenges, or any other potential hurdles that may exist as well.
Once we fully understand what you’d like to accomplish with your project, we advise you as to whether one of our existing home plans will work for you, or if a custom designed home may be the best approach. If the choice is an existing plan, we then move forward with a detailed proposal.
Design & Planning
It is not always possible to provide a firm cost estimate without at least doing some preliminary design work. Our process allows us to work though both the design and estimating simultaneously.
We develop preliminary floor plans and elevations which we review with you, and make any necessary adjustments.
We initiate any applicable engineering/land surveying services, and also make certain all permitting and zoning issues are addressed.
A final set of detailed construction plans is completed, and a detailed proposal is prepared
Construction
Once permits are in hand, construction begins.
During construction we keep you updated on the progress, alert you to when finish selections are due, and our entire team, from office personnel to the construction site superintendent and field crew, are always readily available to answer questions and address concerns as they arise.
As you begin to enjoy your newly completed home or renovation, we continue to communicate with you to handle any punch list items that may come up.
